Solutions
UniSoma develops and deploys decision support solutions for complex industrial, agribusiness and logistics supply chain, also known as: Supply Chain Planning (SCP) or Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS).

These tailor made solutions emerge from projects that articulate UniSoma's consulting and development strengths with each client's experience. Such methodology is very distinct from those practiced by parameterization restricted application providers. More flexibility is available in representing the peculiarities of business decision making processes, an essential characteristic for the development of such solutions.
The technological know-how is heavily based on Decision Technology, a set of Operations Research and Scientific Management techniques for computational simulation and optimization of logistics and production processes which comprise the supply chain. It is also supported by the use of artificial intelligence and statistical techniques to elaborate prediction models which, generally, are necessary for decision making models.
Optimization models provide systems with a computational intelligence, which guarantees an automatic, optimized and integrated program and plan generation for the whole of the supply chain or, in some cases, the production stages. Furthermore, they enable agile reprogramming and comparative scenario studies in uncertain environments, through the use of what-if analysis.
Model building is not only done observing business rules defined by decision makers (planners). It is also done considering aspects concerning the clients management environment, such as guidelines and goals defined by the project sponsors, the management maturity level and the corporate culture. And, finally, but just as important, the quality of data made available in clients database and used by the model.
Simulation models describe the operational dynamics of the businesses production and / or logistic processes. Through them it is possible to analyse alternative policies for physical operational systems and minimize the need of investments to increase the level of market supply.
The deployment of mathematical models guarantee less dependency on ad-hoc planner know-how. Besides this, they allow for insights (generally, non-intuitive) which provide a greater process understanding and enable innovative operational forms of physical systems. Frequently, solutions propose paradigm shifts in consolidated operational policies, which result in expressive economical gains.
UniSoma also provides information technology services for integrating forecasting and decision making models with clients computational database, such as ERPs, electronic spreadsheets and legacy systems.
